Nouaceur Innovation Lab to Host Inaugural Design Day for Morocco’s Sustainable Building
Rabat – The Nouaceur Territorial Innovation Lab (NOTIL) will host its inaugural Design Day, an event aimed at identifying priority skill areas to contribute to accelerating the transition toward sustainable building practices.
The event, which will take place on Friday at “Cité des Métiers et des Compétences de Casablanca-Settat” in Nouaceur, invites stakeholders in the eco-construction sector to share expertise and ideas as part of a broad campaign to tackle environmental and socio-economic challenges.
It will convene not only experts and trainers but also craftsmen, engineers, and public decision-makers in thematic workshops aimed at identifying and prioritizing essential skills needed for eco-construction training programs.
The event aims to identify training needs across different themes and topics, including energy performance, waste management, and low-tech innovation.
Serving as a collective initiative committed to sustainable building, the event also aims to find solutions to help reduce carbon footprints, promote local materials, and contribute to generating jobs in rural areas.
Design Day also aims to develop recommendations with industry stakeholders and ensure alignment between the group’s realities and future training programs, NOTIL said in a statement.
The event is a “unique opportunity to merge traditional know-how with innovation to create training tailored to local challenges,” argued NOTIL Co-Coordinator Nour-Hane El Badmoussi.
She said that eco-construction is not just a technique, but also a lever for climate and social resilience.
Such collaboration between institutions, businesses, and trainers is essential for “building a competent and sustainable ecosystem,” said Co-Coordinator Houda Alaoui, noting that Design Day will “lay the groundwork for a shared competency framework.”
